Hope yours was great. I'll be getting back into the swing of things here soon. With the holidays, owrking two jobs and helping tutor a friend I am pretty maxed out for time, but thats okay. I like being busy.

Best wishes all,

KIRIBAN at 20,000

Sun Nov 15, 2015, 7:53 PM

So I have seen a lot of people who do Kiribans and I think it is a really cool idea. Now that I have some more watchers and more active watches I have decided to do one myself.

When I hit 20, 000 page views (I am currently at 14, 043) I will do a drawing to whomever catches the 20,000 mark (or the closest on either side within 3. IE whoever is closest to 20,000 but I won't do one if someone doesn't screen shot at least 19, 997-20, 003)

Send me a note with the screen shot attached to be entered.

The Kiriban is any commission bust either in copics or pencil crayons (Or watercolour if you want it)

Like any one of these: Swift Heavy Eye Makeup by MarissaWalker Lost Drawings 4/4 Arianna by MarissaWalker Belle by MarissaWalker

I will do OC or fannart, male or female, but I think I am better at female.

And keep on drawing

London Comicon 2015

Tue Oct 6, 2015, 2:17 AM

Hello fellow Deviants. Hope all is well for you. For those of you who follow my life and have an interest in what I have been up to here it is. I went to London Comicon very recently and had a lovely time and spent far too much money. There were lots of stars there (an impressive roster considering it is only London Ontario) The biggest name being Ron Perlman, but the one who I wanted to see and didn;t (he was there but I...well I love his characters so much I couldn't bring myself to meet was Michael Beihn. For those of you who don't know that is KYLE REECE from the original Terminator (he was also a baddass sgt in Aliens)

I got some cool comics and talked with some awesome artists and then I commissioned these four pieces:

Swift by Dustin Crocker by MarissaWalker
Merc and Swift By Matt Rowe by MarissaWalker
Swift By Alex Chung by MarissaWalker
Merc by Anthony Wallace by MarissaWalker

I had one other artist who I commissioned but I didn't get a card and he didn't have a DA account or any other way to credit him so I am not going to upload his art because I believe it is very important to credit the original artists as I have done both in the descriptions, here and by including their cards in the actual scans of the pictures. My hope is to get their art more traffic/views. The only thing I can take credit for are the original designs because they are my OC's that were drawn. I hope you like them and if you do that you go and check out those artists in the links provided in each description or on the cards.

All and all I had a lovely time and look forward to going next year. It was nice to be around a bunch of other people who like Comics and art :)

Cheers to you all.

  1. How long have you been on DeviantArt?

Well, I've been on DA for 6 years I believe? I had an old account back in high school which I used mainly for photo manips and then I made this one and have been here (and plan on staying with this one) for over 4 years

  2. What does your username mean?

My Username is my writing pseudonym, under which I hope to someday be published. I chose it back almost a decade ago because most of my favourite authors had pseudonyms.  That name feels just as much like my real name as my birth name now, I have been using it for so long.

  3. Describe yourself in three words.

Honest. Stubborn. Nice. (Am I allowed to think of myself as nice?)

  4. Are you left or right handed?

    I'm a Lefty!

  5. What was your first deviation?

    Swift by MarissaWalker

  6. What is your favourite type of art to create?

I think I am probably better at realism, but my favourite to create is comic book. I am loving working with copics so far too. (just got into them in the last 6 months or so)

  7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?

Digital, there is so much awesome digital art out there and its not where my talent lies, but I think its soo cool.

  8. What was your first favourite?

    Toxic by Liamythesh

  9. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?

That's probably a tie between comic book style art stuff like: American Star by paulobarrios  HeroicTrio by ArtbotDCand fan stuff like: The Turn of the Universe by alicexz Ygritte by dalisacg Malfoys don't need to study by CaptBexx

  10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?

:iconnegshin: <da:thumb id="173645598"/> There are so many fantastic artists on DA but this artists work makes me wanna cry every time I see thier work it is so darn beautiful. Also, so nice. Close runners up for consistently awe-inspiring work are :iconakubakaarts:  COMM: Keane and Felecia by AkubakaArts whose commission was the best I have recieved (And I have had some awesome ones done by great artists) she captured the essence of my characters better than I ever have Her gallery is filled with such wonderful colour. And :iconcaptbexx: Stupid Potter by CaptBexx whose artwork and one page comics never fail to make me smile and or laugh.

  11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?

:iconshono: Gray: Cerberus by Shono He's got a great sense of humor. I love his comics and have always enjoyed chatting with him online. I think we would get along swimmingly face-to-face. Also a total inspiration to keep working on art.

  12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?

:iconpigbert: Marissa Walker's - Swift by PigbertDid a drawing of my OC without me asking, just out of the blue as a gift. He had no idea (In fact he may be finding out now) but I was going through a really rough time and that gift was like a beautiful beacon of light for me and really helped me out.

  13. What are your preferred tools to create art?

Pencils, watercolour and now COPICS (sketch)

  14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?

Believe it or not on my couch in the basement while curled up underneath a blanket either talking with my room mate or ignoring a movie (that's right movies as background noise are something I love)

  15. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?

Hmmmmm....that's a hard one. I honestly don't think I have one. There are lots of good memories I don't think I have a fave...okay yes I do. I won a contest once with this drawing  Quibble and The Easter Eggs by MarissaWalker of "Quibble" my little OC alien for a children's book I will someday write. I never would have guessed that I would win, and while I never got the commission prize it still felt awesome to actually win something.

Well, that's all she wrote folks. Thanks to everyone who has helped make my DA experience a good one. Love you all. Comments welcome. :iconbummy1:

New home, new scanner, new art

Journal Entry: Thu Jul 16, 2015, 9:52 PM

Hello beautiful deviants,

It's been a really, really long time since I wrote a journal. I haven't had the internet for several month, right now I am actually writing this journal on my phone. ( hooray for data plans and smart phones that work despite severely cracked screens)

I had a lot on my plate, a painful departure from my old roommate and a happy move to a new house/townhouse.  Moving was a good thing but also very tiring.

My most recent purchase from staples was a giant printer/scanner/fax machine which I just hooked up and put together tonight.

So hopefully you will get to  see some new art scanner in a much higher resolution than the photos I have been taking with my phone and posting?

Anyone looking forward to that?
Hope all is well with my awesome watchers, and that some people are still actually watching :-)

Take care,

Here I sit...back again...finally

Journal Entry: Wed May 8, 2013, 10:57 AM

Here I sit in my lovely little office at the back of the building where I work enjoying a little break from all the filing and papers that surround me. I finally had a moment today to actually sit down and go on DA and clean out all my messages (I have slowly been whitteling them away from thier 2000 mark down for the last week) I am finally down to just a dozen and so I have pulled out my typing fingers to write this journal entry.

I have missed you all here on DA so very very much. Several things have kept me away including a new job and my laptop breaking down and leaving me all alone without internet for 2 whole months! oh the agony.

Anyways, I am back and doing a couple little art trades with some lovely people here on DA. I am sure that my next journal entry will be about the art trades and feature some of the artwork I did for them and that they do for me :)

I hope all is well with you. Comments to let me know that someone or several someones actually read this are greatly appreciated and keep me hopeful that in my absence I was not forgotten.

Hope you are all having a lovely day

most sincerely

Decompressing and FRINGE

Journal Entry: Thu Aug 16, 2012, 10:34 AM

FIRST ORGER OF BUSINESS Thanks to everyone who comment on my "Crazy Busy" journal-ya made me feel loved

I have finished unpacking my last box. All that is left are a few posters and pictures to put up on the walls. I love my new apartment, and my roomate has inroduced me to the wonderful world of FRINGE. If you haven't seen it and you like science fiction and intelligent shows it is definately worth watching. I am currently two disks into season two. It is working as a bonding experience for the two of us (my roomate and I) which is nice.

Sitting down and lounging is also nice (and something I don't do often...) and after all the stress of moving it has provided a great time to decompress. All the preasure is off now...though I do still want to find a job in my new city so I no longer have to commute back and forth.

I have also been working on some new art (while watching FRINGE...I can't just sit and watch TV unless I am in a theater or eating-my hands twitch for me to do something) nothing fancy just some doodles and figure drawings.

Well I hope life is treating you all well,

Cazy Busy

Journal Entry: Tue Jul 24, 2012, 11:42 PM

I move in five...wait its after midnight...four days.

What does this mean?

It means that if I get a chance to get on DA it will be late at night (in My part of Canada anyways)

It means my house is filled with boxed

And means that I will only be able to go on DA 3 days a week after the move...WHY? because I do not have a screen for my new computer. (and by new I mean old hand-me down) and my laptop is giving me a really, really hard time.

I hope all is well with you.

I will write move when I have time time. Hugs  to anyone who reads this and takes the time to throw me a smiley face as a comment.

Free Comic Book Day 2012 and THE AVENGERS

Journal Entry: Sun May 6, 2012, 9:02 PM

Well, free comic book day:… which was yesterday (May 5th) and is held anually on the first saturday of the year was an absolute blast. :iconbummy1:

It was my first Free comic book day ever :iconbummy2: and it far exceeded my expectations

I got almost thirty comics about twelve of which were the official printed "free comic book day comics" the others were extra.

In other news...

I SAW THE AVENGERS! I love you Joss! (author and director) and I love everyone who was in it. The movie was both increadable and hillarious. The drink cups came with action figures. So far I have Captain America, Thor and Iron man, the only one left that I need is Hulk, because to the best of my knowledge they did not make figures for the rest of the team :,(

In other comic book news. I have started talking to several of the many, many people who contacted me about the Comic book project I wish to do myself. I am trying to answer everyone but it is hard. Worth it though. I am so happy with the overwealming response that I have had.

Thank you to both

for posting about the comic in thier journals. You guys rock.

Thats all for now

Deep Blue Journal Skin by ~Thewinator
deviantART Related / deviantART Skins & Scripts / Journal & Gallery Skins / Installable Journal Skins

Well, I have been busy lately.

Finished my part in an art trade :) Have several more to go.

Posted a drawing to my scrapbook (of anime-ish eyes)

And posted the finished "Swift on Race day"

Hopefully tomorow I will get a chance to come on. Say thank you to everyone who has favourited art in the last month and respond to all comments as well as write a nice PS. for this journal.

Also, TOMOROW I HOPE TO FINISH AND POST THE FIRST FINISHED DRAWING OF "Mercury" and "Swift" together as a couple. Anyone remember the one from scraps?

When I update this journal tomorow...since I will hopefully have time and it is exceedingly late for me right now, I will add all the links.

I am still curious how people get small pictures to show up in thier journals so if anyone who knows the answer is reading this journal, let me know :)

Thats right, ladies and gentlement, boys and girls. I am going on my first official vacation. I have worked long and hard and am going to go enjoy a nice cabbin by the beach for a full week.

What does this mean? This means that I will finally have time to sit down and organize a ton of my writing. I will finish several books take numerous photos and practice the guitar for many, many hours. And if my bike can fit into the car it will come with me and I will ride around with my hair blowing in the breeze.

It also means that I will not be online for a full week, so any messages notes and comments will not have reply's untill I return.

I hope that you all have fun without me :) And I hope that I have fun too.

Take care and I'll see you in a week.

So some of you may have noticed that I havn't posted any new artwork in oh, almost two weeks. Well that dry spell came to an end today because I finally finished my piece of art work for my art trade with the fabulously tallented  :iconjivra:

My art to her: [link] [link]  watercolour and digital versions of her character Jivra with a special pet creatred by yours truely.

Her piece for me was an awsomely epic drawing of the one an only SWIFT:…

Now that I have finally finished that piece of artwork I will allow myself to work on something else :) Hope to hear back from some of you on what you think of both sets of artwork.

If you love JIVRA's drawing of Swift then please favourite it to show how awsome she is and help me say thank you.

Hope your day is treating you well
